A photoshop doodle that came to fruition in a pleasingly unexpected grotesque. Had little idea in my head as to what I was trying to do, except that I had some notion of a hollow, sagging, corrupted thing, half covering something luminous beneath.

"The nethermost caverns," wrote the mad Arab, "are not for the fathoming of eyes that see; for their marvels are strange and terrific. Cursed the ground where dead thoughts live new and oddly bodied, and evil the mind that is held by no head."

H.P. Lovecraft "The Festival", quoting the Necronomicon

I love the lighting here and the glow effect, especially the way it all shines through the skin.

thank you. it was part doodle, part experiment.
A word of warning though. Never juggle pieces of phosphorus, sodium and/or potassium with your tongue. ;)

I love how the light comes through the translucent sagging matter.
