"Into this wild Abyss The womb of Nature, and perhaps her grave Of neither sea, nor shore, nor air, nor fire, But all these in their pregnant causes mixed Confusedly, and which thus must ever fight, Unless the Almighty Maker them ordain His dark materials to create more worlds, Into this wild Abyss the wary Fiend Stood on the brink of Hell and looked a while, Pondering his voyage; for no narrow firth He had to cross." - John Milton, Paradise Lost, Book II
The Lucent were native to no world but lived between dimensions. I had an idea for a vaguely humanoid shape made of some luminous substance, part matter, part energy and filled with a radiance.
An otherworldly, extra-dimensional being I conceived for a long forgotten Call of Cthulhu storyline that entered the Dreamlands and an ethereal place between waking and dreaming called Nihility*.
In the end I never used the creature, but the notion of it always appealed to me.
Struggled a bit with this one, but not too bad for a couple of nights work born out of a random doodle. Could probably do a little more to him, but decided to leave it alone before I killed the thing.
